Pifco Vintage 12 Cinderella Christmas Lights. Bulbs have been converted to coloured diffused LED’s for safety and due to general unavailability of 20V lilliput filament bulbs. The folding section of the lid is intact. Complete with all mounts to hold the carriages within the original Pifco box. Carriages are original vintage 12 Cinderella carriages, all are in excellent condition, no damage or chipped paint. No missing or glued on wheels. The required 20V screw in lilliput bulbs have now become unobtainable. This set has been converted to use diffused coloured LED’s in place of the 20V incandescent bulbs. Diffused LED’s of colours corresponding to the carriage colour were employed for good vibrancy and so that a pleasant all around glow was maintained very similar to incandescent bulbs. Please note the LED’s are powered by DC voltage, therefore there is no high frequency flickering of the LED’s, the light generated is entirely steady. This avoids any issues due to fast flickering lights. This conversion has a number of advantages. A The lightloom operates at 36V (0.24 Amps) as opposed to the lethal mains voltage of the filament bulb set. Thus it is much safer with small children, pets etc. B The original filament bulb set suffered greatly from overheating of the carriages, often resulting in the carriages softening and melting if the set was left running for several hours. The LED’s increase in temperature a few degrees then stabilize. Thus the set can be left on safely for very many hours. (Please see temperature measurement comparison images). C The LED’s have a very long lifetime and should not need replacing within the foreseeable future. The original 20V lilliput filament bulbs cannot now be obtained. D The original filament set ran at 24 Watts, the LED conversion reduces this to 8.6 Watts, thus saving electricity costs. A mains electricity to 36V DC transformer with 3 pin wall plug is included.
