Collect this excellent Steinbach “Bagpiper, Dudelsackpfeifer, Chubby” hand-tooled, handcrafted, and hand-painted German wooden Nutcracker, 2006, S973, S 973. Bagpiper Chubby captures the flavor of the Scottish lands. The bagpiper is an essential part of any traditional Scotsman garb and provides a focal point of interest for this nutcracker creation that is also wonderful in other ways. The Scotsman wears a traditional red and green plaid kilt, green jacket with a golden collar, and red and black cap with a similarly colored pompom. The bagpipe is comprised of a felt windbag and wind pipe elements that are festively adorned with different colored tassels. He sports a fury dark brown hair and beard. His eye brows and mustache are painted black. The bottom has the red and white Steinbach paper sticker, the embossed Steinbach insignia, and the inked number 1119. Standing approximately 13 inches tall, a great addition to a Scottish and Steinbach nutcracker collection. Mint nutcracker that comes in the original red and white Steinbach gift box. Box has some minor condition issues (see photos). Stored in a smoke-free environment. It does not have the original red and gold metallic Steinbach hangtag.
